Dr. Kristin J. Davin is a Professor of Foreign Language Education in the Department of Middle, Secondary, and K-12 Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research centers on second language development and assessment, language teacher development, and the Seal of Biliteracy—a recognition awarded to students who demonstrate proficiency in two or more languages.

A former K-12 Spanish teacher, Dr. Davin brings practical classroom experience to her scholarship. She has authored four books and numerous peer-reviewed articles that guide educators and policymakers in implementing biliteracy programs across the United States.

From 2022 to 2026, she served as Co-Editor of Foreign Language Annals, the flagship journal of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
